About me

My working life has been mostly in the field of mental health, adult education, wellbeing and special needs support in Germany and the UK.

For twelve years, till 2024, I have had the privilege of developing and leading numerous courses for the Devon Recovery Learning Community, a Recovery College funded by the NHS. The emphasis was on supporting people who experience mental health problems.

My work included partnerships with Mind, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, and Exeter College.

The year 2024 marked a significant shift as I fully transitioned into private practice with a strong focus on Clinical Hypnotherapy.

I am dedicated to the principles of mental/physical health recovery and wish to promote opportunities that enable and empower individuals and groups.

Understanding

At the heart of all my work is a recognition that we are all inherently resourceful.

Our creative/spiritual potential can be harnessed to become connected and responsive to ourselves, others and to what is supportive and meaningful.

What we perceive as a problem may actually be a creative adaptation to a challenging experience or situation, whether from the past or in the present.

Problems and symptoms can offer insights into the journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Inspiration

I have been heavily influenced by Buddhist thought and practice, which includes ethical and meditative approaches.

The discovery of mindfulness meditation in a Theravada Buddhist Monastery over 30 years ago has been a lifesaver for me. Other key influences in my healing journey have been my love of Greece, animals of all sorts, books, dance, yoga, Qi Gong and travelling.

My work is influenced by people such as Dr Arielle Schwartz, Dr Gabor Mate, Tara Brach, Irene Lyon, and Dr Kristin Neff.
