emotional rupture

When Trust, Safety, and Confidence Are Shaken

Is this your experience?

“I don’t feel safe within myself.”
“I can’t stop thinking about it.”
“I should have known. Why did I do it?”
“I feel ashamed or foolish.”
“I am anxious to get it wrong again.”

If these words resonate, you’re not alone.

Emotional rupture can follow betrayal, sudden life disruption, or violations of trust — including relational or digital harm. It often affects how safe you feel in yourself, how your body responds to stress, and how much confidence you have in your own judgement. It may show up through changes in physical health, anxiety, low mood, isolation or a loss of meaning or direction.

You don’t need to identify with the term emotional rupture for this work to be meaningful. What matters is how your experience is affecting you now.

I work gently and collaboratively, guided by evidence-based practice and deep respect for your lived experience.

When trust and safety are shaken, the nervous system often stays on high alert. The felt responses are natural responses to unsafe experiences and stress. Symptoms reflect the intelligence of your body-mind to signal that something has happened, and there is a need to process, balance, restore and recover.

A trauma-informed, relational approach

Violations of trust can disrupt your sense of identity and inner stability. My work focuses on restoring safety through:

  • Presence and attunement — a steady, supportive relationship that helps you reconnect with yourself

  • Compassion — offered by me and gently cultivated within you

  • Validation — your experience is acknowledged; you are not at fault

  • Emotional containment — allowing experiences to be processed without overwhelm

This work honours the whole of you: emotions, body, intuition, and capacity for meaning.

  • emotional shock, shame, or grief

  • loss of trust in yourself or others

  • hypervigilance or difficulty relaxing

  • repeated mental replaying of events

  • fear of being harmed or manipulated agai

  • sudden changes, out of your control

  • digital fraud/violation

  • friendship/relationship betrayal

  • workplace bullying or abuse of power

  • moral injury
